TRAVEL BASKETBALL INFORMATION

Registration and Tryout Details:

• Players MUST REGISTER TO TRYOUT. There is no fee to tryout. Immediately following tryouts, players selected for a travel team will be required to register to play for the season. The Registration Fee is $255 per player with a sibling discount of $20 off each additional player. The registration fee covers the Travel Team league fee.

• Uniforms will be an additional fee.

• Tryouts will be held at Jacobs Elementary Gymnasium on Wednesday, October 11th & Thursday, October 12th within 45 min time slots between 6:00 - 8:30 PM. Information about tryouts time slots on these days will be announced as soon as possible.

• Players will be placed on teams based on the evaluation process.
  

• Players will be notified through coaches of placement on teams.

• ALL Travel Team players are expected to play Intown Hoops.

• Players who are not selected or decide not to play for a Travel Team are encouraged to play Intown Hoops.

Travel Program Information:

Travel basketball is a fun and competitive youth program open to boys and girls in 4th-8th grade. The travel season consists of 14 - 16 regular games (depending on league) running from mid-November through the end of February with playoffs in early March. The season starts off with practice and tournament Thanksgiving weekend. League schedules will begin to formalize in early November. Regular season games are expected to begin on December 2nd. Regular season games are played on Saturdays and Sundays.

HPYB participates in 3 South Shore Leagues - South Shore Boys Basketball League, South Shore Girls Basketball League, and Old Colony Girls Basketball League.

To form competitive teams, HPYB will hold travel tryout(s) in October, with independent evaluators for each grade. Please note that with travel it's possible to have too many players for any given team, and families should realize that not everyone necessarily makes the team. We offer an Intown program later in the season that is open to all players. More information about our Intown program will be announced later.
